A Big Surprises of Seven New Songs from Taylor Swift for the 3 AM Edition of Midnights
Taylor Swift, who recently released her 10th studio album, Midnights, kept the night owls up until the small hours of the morning with significant news.
Swift debuted seven additional songs, which she is referring to as “the 3 a.m. tunes,” just as fans were getting familiar with the new album.
“Surprise! I view Midnights as a fully realized concept album, with its 13 tracks painting a perfect image of the intensity of that enigmatic, crazy hour. However! We have composed additional songs while searching for the magical number 13. They’re referred to as “3am tracks.” She announced the information in a post. As we do with From The Vault recordings, I’ve been enjoying the idea of sharing more of our creative process with you lately. I’m handing them to you now at 3 in the morning. “
You may stream the songs right now under the titles “The Great War,” “Bigger Than The Whole Sky,” “Paris,” “High Infidelity,” “Glitch,” “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve,” and “Dear Reader.”
Fans of Folklore and Evermore will be pleased to see Aaron Dessner return as a co-writer and co-producer on “The Great War,” “High Infidelity,” and “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve,” even though Swift collaborates with Midnight’s collaborators such as Jack Antonoff on the majority of the songs.Even though Dessner worked on both of those albums, he wasn’t there for Midnights until now.
When a list of the people who worked on Swift’s new album leaked earlier this week and his name wasn’t on it, he apparently hinted at his hidden involvement. “Always have to remember things aren’t exactly how they look,” he tweeted at the time.
Before the new album’s release week, whenSwift posted a video to her social media accounts with a calendar for all the Midnights promotions, there was a lot of buzz surrounding the revelation. Fans conjectured that she was announcing a tour, revealing a new documentary, or even releasing a new album, whether it was re-recorded or not, after a note on the day of its release at 3 a.m. ET teased a “special very crazy surprise.”
One of many scheduled events for the following week is the big unveiling. The first music video for the album’s first single, “Anti-Hero,” which Swift previously referred to as a “guided tour” of her vulnerabilities, will be released on Friday. The official lyrics videos for the album will be posted on YouTube at 8 p.m. ET after the video launches at 8 a.m. ET.
Swift has scheduled appearances on The Graham Norton Show on Friday and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday of the following week. A second mystery music video will be released on Tuesday.
