A comic book store in San Diego says there is a video to support their claim. Two comic book stores in California say that the troubled actor Ray Buffer stole hundreds of dollars worth of comics, and security footage from both stores seems to show the theft.
When a video of him putting many books in his shirt on September 29 was posted online last week, it was Southern California Comics in San Diego that made the first claims.
After saying in a negative post the next day that the collectibles were worth more than $600, the store owner filed a police report with the SDPD. Since then, employees have given police proof, including more videos they say show Buffer holding the books.
According to the store, 53-year-old actor Buffer, who used to be on Curb Your Enthusiasm and ER in the early 2000s, now only do commercials and contract work at nearby amusement parks. He is a repeat offender.
The store showed a video of the fallen celebrity caught in the act by a staff member at a LA comic shop the week before. They also showed a video of Buffer allegedly getting a boost from the week early.
In the video, the owner confronts Buffer and points out he is on camera. Reports say that the owner saw Buffer do the same thing at Metropolis Comics in Bellflower.

The store owner threatened to call the police, so the sad actor, who has a small role in Brad Pitt’s new film Bullet Train, returned the comics and left. It does not look good for the actor.
Buffer has a hard time making it as an actor, but he works as a contract Santa and freelance graphic designer. After that, he deleted all his social media accounts and said the business owners were bothering him.
The first post from last Friday, which showed Buffer shoplifting while wearing a bright green polo and long gray bears, was called a “PSA” by the staff at Southern California Comics (public service announcement).

At that point, the staff had not discovered that the criminal was Long Beach resident Buffer. Later that day, they accused Buffer of the crime and asked fans of the store’s Facebook page to get in touch with the actor. For the past 20 years, Buffer has played chiefly Santa Claus in regional musicals and sing-along ads.
The post also said that since the pandemic, shoplifters have repeatedly targeted it and that it had to hire a security guard to make up for its losses after finding out that Buffer had stolen books worth more than $600.
