Adele Laurie Blue Adkins was born on May 5, 1988, in Tottenham, London. She is best known by her stage name, Adele, which is a single word. Her father left when she was two, so her mother, Penny Adkins, raised her. They moved to Brighton on the south coast of England when she was nine years old. In 1999, they moved back to London.
