Official Trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water : Return To Pandora With Power
James Cameron has spent more than ten years making the first of what will be four sequels to his hit movie Avatar, which came out in 2009.
In May, Cameron gave us our first look at the first of these sequels, Avatar: The Way of Water, with a short, visually stunning teaser that showed how good he is at building worlds.
Even though people liked what they saw, the overall response was pretty quiet. Now that the full official trailer is out, people may be more excited about the upcoming movie.
Cameron wrote a treatment for Avatar in 1994, and it was supposed to be the director’s next big project after he finished Titanic, which was a big hit.
But Cameron realized that he couldn’t make the movie he had in mind because the technology wasn’t there yet.

He worked for a long time to make what he needed, which included a cutting-edge virtual camera system for directing the motion-capture scenes. (He said it was like “a big, strong game engine.”)
When the finished movie came out, it broke box office records. It was the highest-grossing movie until Avengers: Endgame took the top spot for a short time in 2019.
(A re-release of Avatar in China in March 2021 put it back on top.)
Most critics were positive and praised the technology, but some pointed out that the story was not as good as it could have been.
Cameron also talked to a number of scientists as he created the world of Pandora (a moon orbiting a gas giant exoplanet called Polyphemus in the Alpha Centauri A system).
Avatar was nominated for nine Oscars, and it won Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects. Even before Avatar came out, Cameron said he wanted to make two more movies that would expand the story to other moons of Polyphemus.
The first would be about Pandora’s ocean. A deepwater submersible would be used to take pictures at the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
But once again, he needed technology that didn’t exist yet, this time to film underwater motion capture scenes.
Jake Sully, played by Sam Worthington, and Neytiri, played by Zoe Saldana, will be back.
At the end of the first movie, Jake decides to permanently merge with his avatar to be with Neytiri and start a family on Pandora.
According to the official synopsis, “Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they go through.”

Jamie Flatters, Britain Dalton, and Trinity Bliss play the couple’s three children, Neteyam, Lo-ak, and Tuk. Jack Champion plays a teenager named Spider, who was born on the human base and is saved and raised by the couple.
Even though all three of their characters died in the first movie, Sigourney Weaver (Dr. Grace Augustine), Stephen Lang (Colonel Miles Quaritch), and Matt Gerald (Corporal Lyle Wainfleet) will also be back.
And CCH Pounder comes back as Mo’at, Neytiri’s mother and the spiritual leader of the Omaticaya clan. This new trailer doesn’t tell us much more about the plot, but Cameron has always been good at telling interesting stories.
We do know that when humans cause trouble again on Pandora, the Sully clan will have to leave their home. So, they go to an underwater tribe of Na’vi for help. At first, they don’t want to take them in because they don’t want “their war” to spread to them.

Even though they feel like “outcasts,” the Scully family is adjusting to their new surroundings in the trailer. But there will be another fight with people.
On December 16, 2022, Avatar: The Way of Water will be shown in theatres. Avatar 3 is set to come out on December 20, 2024. It was filmed at the same time as The Way of Water.
