Awkwafina Is Nora From Queens Season 3 Officially Renewed & More Details
Most of Awkwafina’s fans probably know her from her rap career, the time her song “My Vag” went viral, or her breakout role in the movie “Crazy Rich Asians.” But in her Comedy Central original series “Awkwafina is Nora from Queens,” the rapper, actress, and comedian show a very different side of herself.
In the first two seasons of the show, a made-up version of Awkwafina is shown before she became famous as an actress. In the show, she plays Nora Lin, a twenty-something woman in Queens whose real name is Nora Lum who wants more out of life but isn’t sure how to get it. The show also shows how her character gets along with her father, Wally (BD Wong), and her grandmother, Lori Tan Chinn, who is only ever called “Grandma” in the show.
The show has won the hearts of both critics and audiences (via Rotten Tomatoes). For example, Melanie McFarland of Salon wrote in her review of the show, “Like Awkwafina herself, the show’s charm and warm humor carry it smoothly, and its star channels both of those qualities into every moment, whether she’s being rowdy, dirty, or introspective.”
Season 2 of “Awkwafina is Nora from Queens” ended on October 13, but there’s a clear demand for more seasons, so it’s not too soon to think about what might happen next. So, here’s what we know so far about Season 3 of “Awkwafina is Nora from Queens.”
