Ben Schwartz is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer whose charm, wit, and range enthrall audiences. Born in The Bronx, New York, on September 15, 1981, Schwartz started as a comic at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. He became well-known for his portrayal of Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on the hit television program “Parks and Recreation.”
In the movie adaption, Schwartz further demonstrated his voice-acting prowess by playing Sonic the Hedgehog. Schwartz continues to make an enduring impression on large and small screens with his contagious energy and hilarious timing, garnering a devoted following throughout the globe.

Ben Schwartz is not currently dating anyone or married. Ben did, however, date Gina Rodriguez, the actress from “Jane The Virgin,” in 2016. Gina Rodriguez’s dating status with Ben was verified to Us Weekly by a close insider, who added, “She’s so happy. She thinks he is so great, and all her friends love him.”
Gina also gave Hollywoodlife.com an update on her dating status during that year’s Golden Globe Awards. “Oh, I’m taken! I’m taken! Yeah, he’s awesome! Yeah, I am a big, big fan!” She said. “He is awesome; he is remarkable!”
Despite dating for a while, the pair quickly called it quits since they were unable to keep their relationship going. In the several years following his last romance, Ben hasn’t been seen dating anybody else in public and seems to be OK with being single.
Ben Schwartz’s Biography
On September 15, 1981, Benjamin Joseph Schwartz was born into a Jewish household in The Bronx, New York City. Schwartz was raised in the northwest Bronx district of Riverdale by his parents, who are both native Bronxites.
His mother taught music at P.S. 24, an elementary school in Riverdale, while his father worked as a social worker before entering the real estate industry. Marni is the name of his sister as well.
In an interview with Kevin Pollak, he stated, “When I told people I was from the Bronx, it was like, ‘Oh, do you have bullet wounds?’ And I’m like, ‘No, it’s just me and, like, Jewish people.'”
His family relocated to Edgemont, New York, in neighboring Westchester County, when he was eleven years old. In addition to playing basketball and participating in the chorus, Schwartz attended Edgemont Junior-Senior High School, where he graduated in 1999. After that, he went to Union College, where he double majored in psychology and anthropology before graduating in 2003.

Ben Schwartz’s Career
Schwartz led Showtime’s House of Lies and guest-starred as Jean-Ralphio Saperstein on Parks and Recreation. Schwartz played series regular Bill Hoyt on NBC’s one-hour spy drama Undercovers in 2010.
On HBO’s Funny or Die Presents, Schwartz hosted Terrible Decisions with Ben Schwartz and starred in several CollegeHumor skits, including Jake and Amir. Coauthoring Hugh Jackman’s 81st Academy Awards opening act earned Schwartz four Emmy nominations and the 2009 Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.
In Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja, Schwartz voiced 14-year-old freshman ninja Randy Cunningham, who protects his hometown, Norrisville, from evil.
In September 2013, he was hired by Paramount Pictures to re-make Soapdish, retitled El Fuego Caliente, and rework the original American soap opera into a Latin telenovela with producers Rob Reiner and Alan Greisman.
He also sold an original pitch to Universal Studios based on Brian Grazer’s idea with Imagine Entertainment producing. He wrote Robot Chicken’s third season as a staff writer and freelanced for Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update and David Letterman’s monologues.
Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre alum Schwartz. The improv group “Hot Sauce” included Adam Pally and Gil Ozeri. Monthly at UCBT, the ensemble performed “Something Fresh” long-form improv.
He and Bill Hader were Star Wars: The Force Awakens vocal consultants. Schwartz appeared as a Stormtrooper in the film. Schwartz has emerged as the sole guest in Comedy Bang! Bang! episodes “Solo Bolo” (2014), “Solo Bolo Dos Lo” (2015), “Solo Bolo Trolo” (2016), “Solo Bolo Cuatrolo” (2016), “Solo Bolo Cincolo” (2017), “Solo Bolo Sonicolo” (2020), and “Solo Bolo Hallowolo” (2021).
In most episodes, he and host Scott Aukerman compete in the Olympic Song Challenge. Ben has also appeared on If I Were You, ID1OT, You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes, and Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.
Schwartz voiced Dewey Duck in the 2017 Disney XD DuckTales reboot. In Netflix’s Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh’s 2017 animated Christmas particular Home for the Holidays, Schwartz appeared as himself with Kelly Clarkson.
Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles saw him voice Leonardo. Schwartz was cast to voice Sonic the Hedgehog in 2020 August 2018. Schwartz was released in the Netflix comedy Space Force as F. Tony Scarapiducci on September 26, 2019.
Billy Crystal and Ben Schwartz appeared in Standing Up, Falling, published on April 25, 2019. Schwartz and Thomas Middleditch participated in Netflix’s first long-form improv special, Middleditch and Schwartz, a three-part series of hour-long performances taped at New York University’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in April 2020.
Schwartz starred in the first season of the Apple TV+ mystery comedy The Afterparty in 2022 and guest-starred in the 2023 second season. Schwartz guest voiced TAY-0, a Cid-racing droid, in Star Wars: The Bad Batch in January 2023.
