- Storyline
The Japanese Football Association looks at the state of Japanese soccer and hires Jinpachi Ego as Japan’s coach for the World Cup. Jinpachi thinks that Japan doesn’t have an aggressive striker who can score goals. So, he builds the Blue Lock, a prison-like place where 300 of the best strikers from high schools all over Japan are put in separate rooms and made to fight each other. The last person standing in Blue Lock will get to be the striker for the national team. Those who lose will never be able to join again.
Yoichi Isagi, a striker who couldn’t get his high school soccer team to the national tournament, has been chosen to take part in this risky project. He could have scored himself, but instead, he gave the ball to a teammate who missed. This made him wonder if things would have turned out differently if he had been more selfish. Blue Lock Project gives Yoichi a golden chance to learn more about himself. He wants to be the best striker in the world and help Japan win the World Cup.
