Brendan Fraser Weight Gain Story: The Real Reason For Brendan Fraser’s Weight Gain
Brendan Fraser’s next movie, “The Whale,” directed by Darren Aronofsky, is a big return to the big screen. Brendan Fraser, who plays “The Mummy,” has gone through a lot of physical changes that Hollywood actors are known for doing to get into their roles to incredible new levels. For his role in “The Whale,” the charming actor gained up to 270 kg.
Social media is buzzing about Fraser’s first look in The Whale. When the first picture of Fraser as Charlie in The Whale was released, social media went crazy. This was because the actor had a good body image and had taken care of his looks well.

In order to bulk up, Brendan Fraser Wearing Prosthetics
Fraser acknowledged he used prosthetics in The Whale during a feature interview with Newsweek. Even though he had wrapped filming, he anticipated the movie’s impact.
According to Fraser, “the outfit and costume was extensive, seamless, heavy.” It’s unlike anything I’ve ever done, but I’m not going to be cagey and say that I haven’t seen it all yet because I know it will leave an indelible imprint.
Opinions on social media are divided on whether or not The Whale made the right choice by employing Fraser instead of an actor who could do the role without prosthetics. Still, it can’t be denied that the presence of the actor, who was prominent in box office successes like “The Mummy” and “Crash,” is bringing a lot of interest to the production.
The premiere of “The Whale” will take place at the 2022 Venice Film Festival.

The global premiere of A24’s The Whale will take place during the 2022 Venice Film Festival. As the festival runs from August 31st to September 10th, there won’t be too much time for international spectators to wait for online comments to the films.
Early reactions to The Whale have raised hopes that Fraser may be nominated for an Academy Award. In fact, Natalie Portman, who he directed to an Oscar for her brave performance in Black Swan, already has one.
It’s possible that if Fraser takes advantage of this chance presented by The Whale, people will view him in a completely new light. Nonetheless, it can be seen that he performed it while heavily disguised with prosthetics and makeup.
Two additional films from A24 Films will be presented at the 2022 Venice Film Festival. This comes as a bit of a surprise, given that the studio hasn’t always seen this venue as a good fit for the premiere of their films. But A24 decided to bring some of their most anticipated movies to the Venice Film Festival. The global premieres of Joanna Hogg’s The Eternal Daughter and Ti West’s horror prequel Pearl are also on the schedule.
Does Brendan do anything to stop putting on weight?
Brendan Fraser’s days as a Hollywood sensation may be in the past, but his appearance continues to make headlines, whether it’s for good or evil. As a result of his new role in the upcoming film The Whale, the actor’s weight gain has once again been a topic of discussion. Brendan plays a 270-pound schoolteacher who slowly eats himself to death in the drama movie while mourning the loss of his wife. The Doom Patrol actor had to spend hours in the makeup chair having prosthetics applied to transform his appearance, but he adds that by gaining weight in real life, it was simpler for him to get into character.
He recently spoke with Newsweek.“This is certainly far removed from anything I’ve ever done, and I know it’s going to make a lasting impression,”
Brendan has previously spoken about the weight he gained after undergoing multiple operations required by the physical strain he endured performing stunts in the late ’90s for films like George of the Jungle (1997) and The Mummy. Brendan also stars in Steven Soderbergh’s No Sudden Move alongside Benicio del Toro, Jon Hamm, and Don Cheadle (1999).
The actor’s weight increase and how it impacts his physical appearance don’t seem to be affecting him much right now.
