There is nothing quite like the anticipation of a new video game. The days leading up to its release are filled with excitement and speculation, as gamers around the world countdown the hours until they can get their hands on it.
Video games are a huge part of our culture, and millions of people all over the world enjoy playing them. Gaming has always been a popular pastime for many for a variety of different reasons, regardless of whether they are conventional video games or they are casino titles including online poker for Australian players that can be found on the web. No matter what type of game you play, they can be a great way to escape from reality for a while or a great way to just have some fun and help eliminate the possibility of boredom.
There are many new video games always being released and this year is no different, with several hotly anticipated games set to come out in the near future! In this blog post, we will take a look at some of those titles that we can not wait to play and wish they were around now!
Saints Row
Set to be made available across a multitude of different gaming platforms including PlayStation and Xbox devices, gamers do not have to wait too long (August 23, 2022) before they can get their hands on another edition of Saints Row, with this particular title providing a complete reboot of the original series.
Players will begin at the very beginning where they will need to start from the bottom and work their way up. They will take the role of the Boss and with their small group of friends, they will need to make the decisions that will pave their future and allow them to take control of Santo Ileso. There are a variety of different criminal activities that can be participated in, but players will have full control over their destiny and the origin of their story.
Overwatch 2
Another video game that we can not wait to be released – although it is not slated until October at the earliest – Overwatch 2 is a title that can not be missed! Gamers will be able to enjoy a free-to-play mode as soon as it is launched, while they will be able to participate in the new Story Missions mode that has been created.
There is a lot of excitement because of the fact that there are new playable heroes, too, with Junker Queen being one character to have already been revealed and one that looks to have plenty of power, too!
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty fans will have already had October 28, 2022, marked in their calendars as they will know this is when the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 title will be released! Of course, this title has a lot of buzz around it, with passionate enthusiasts able to revel in a number of quality features!
For instance, Task Force 141 will return after last being seen in the 2019 edition of the series, while this year’s release will follow on from the story that was set in that game. For those who need a refresher, we last saw Captain Price sitting down with CIA handler Kate Laswell discussing Victor Zakhaev and General Shepherd.
There is not much else known except that it will be playable on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, but that will not stop the excitement from building between now and the October date that has been announced!
God of War: Ragnarok
Exclusive to PlayStation, any gaming enthusiast will know that there is a lot to look forward to when it comes down to the God of War: Ragnarok title that is expected to be launched before 2022 comes to an end. In fact, we have already been given a November 9 date for this highly exciting video game.
The game managed to “break the internet” with its trailer when it was launched, as fans managed to see Kratos and Atreus engaged in family conflict as they took on Freya, Thor, and Ragnarok. It is a shame that this will be the final part of the saga, but with a new director in Eric Willaims, we will see a story that sees father and son travel to previously unvisited places including Vanaheim, Svartalfheim, and Asgard. Additionally, we will encounter new characters including Angrboda and Odin, too!

These are just some of the biggest video games set to be released in the final stages of 2022, although admittedly we could mention so many. This year has been incredible for launches as developers have been able to get as creative and inventive as possible, and if this is a sign of things to come, then the future of the video gaming industry is incredibly bright!
