Jody Miller, a famous country singer, died at the age of 80. Her death was caused by complications from Parkinson’s disease. The Grammy-winning Queen of the House singer died on Thursday, October 6, in her hometown of Blanchard, Oklahoma. She had been sick for seven years and had been fighting it.
People say that the singer, who was known as a trailblazer for other female performers, was surrounded by family and friends when she died. Jennifer McMullen, who has been her agent for a long time, said in a statement, “Jody Miller’s talent cannot be overstated.
She had an innate, God-given ability to understand and communicate with the most beautiful tones and inflections. She made it look and sound so easy that it takes a moment to realize how great it is. But in real life, she was just as natural and unique as she was on stage and in the studio.
Jody won a Grammy for her song “Queen of the House,” which was a number five country hit and a number 12 Billboard Hot 100 song in 1965. She had more than 24 songs on the country charts. Later in life, she made gospel records and was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Country Gospel Music Association.

Jody won the best country and western vocal performance for Queen of the House at the 1966 Grammys, where she was also nominated for the best new artist. She later said, “I started as a folk singer, and that Grammy got me into country music.” Myrna Joy Miller was born on November 29, 1941. At age 10, she knew she wanted to be a singer.
She married Monty Brooks for 52 years until he died in 2014. She said of her life, “It is a Cinderella story… I had been married for six months when I got to Los Angeles. It was the summer of 1962, and by the beginning of the following year, I had a deal with Capitol.

She went on tour with The Beach Boys to Hawaii and played on TV shows with the Rolling Stones after she changed her name to Jody Miller.
