Deadpool 3 Release Date Confirmed. Hugh Jackman To Return As Wolverine, Updated Ryan Reynolds
Ryan Reynolds shares an update on Deadpool 3. Hugh Jackman will be returning as Wolverine in the movie.
Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in the third Deadpool film was officially announced by Ryan Reynolds on Tuesday. The first film to be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be this one. A humorous video that Ryan Reynolds posted on social media also revealed the film’s release date. Ryan and Hugh will both be making their MCU debuts with this after Disney acquired the studio a few years ago.
RYAN CONFIRMS HUGH TO RETURN AS WOLVERINE
It’s been difficult for Ryan to keep his mouth shut about this one, he writes in a tweet. He was referring to Wolverine’s debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Then, in a funny discussion about how Deadpool should enter the MCU, he stated, “I’ve really had to examine my soul on this one.” During his tongue-in-cheek banter with us, a man crosses the frame, and Ryan yells to him, “Hey Hugh, want to play Wolverine one more time?” “Yeah, fine, Ryan,” responds Jackman.

ABOUT DEADPOOL 3
The movie’s logo then appears, also referencing Wolverine’s comeback. The announcement stated that the movie’s release date will be September 6, 2024. Following his public retirement from the role of the superhero in the 2017 movie Logan, Hugh will reprise his role as Wolverine.
Shawn Levy, who previously collaborated with Reynolds on The Adam Project, will serve as the film’s director.
In an interview with ComicBook.com from last year, Reynolds said, “Deadpool, for me, is kind of like an anxiety-inducing tightrope walk.” “I always think when I’ve got Deadpool just right, and I’m speaking from experience from Deadpool 1 & 2, that I need to make it 30 to 40% percent better than it already is. Even if I’m at the moment where I’m like, “This is perfect, this moment!” then, I stop and I go, “Okay, this has to be 30% better than it already is.” It’s a stressful thing to get right, or at least right in my opinion.
Who Is Starring in Deadpool 3?
Ryan Reynolds will continue to play Deadpool even though the movie will move to the MCU, and he’ll undoubtedly continue to breach the fourth wall and deliver jokes about altering universes. Then there is Hugh Jackman, who will be portraying Wolverine for the tenth and presumably final time (although the more multiversal characters we see, the more likely it is that Secret Wars will feature a huge fight sequence involving all of them).
The final confirmed cast member is Blind Al, Wade’s roommate and best buddy, who is once again portrayed by the renowned Leslie Uggams. Blind Al is a fan favorite from Deadpool films. There is currently no information available regarding if other beloved characters, such as Josh Brolin as Cable or Zazie Beetz as Domino, but chances are we’ll see more than a few familiar faces joining Reynolds and Jackman in what’s arguably the most exciting Marvel movie on the horizon right now.
When and Where Is Deadpool 3 Premiering?
Reynolds’ enormous statement gave us confirmation that Deadpool 3 will spit its way into theatres on September 6, 2024, just under two years from now. A streaming release on Disney+ and/or Hulu is most likely to occur about a month and a half following the theatrical release of Deadpool 3 given the box office success of the prior two films.
Will Deadpool 3 Be Rated R?
Both Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, and former CEO of the Walt Disney Company Bob Iger have publicly said that the third Deadpool movie will maintain its R rating and remain faithful to the first two. This suggests that more intense violence and coarser language may be on the table. Unless the upcoming Blade (2023) movie starring Mahershala Ali is also going to be R-rated like the older Blade films, if these promises are kept, Deadpool 3 would be the first MCU movie to receive a 17 or older rating.
