Devin McCourty is an American football player. Devin McCourty was born in August 1987 in Nyack, New York. McCourty attended Saint Joseph Regional High School and was a free safety, cornerback, and kickoff returner.
Jason McCourty, Devin’s twin brother, is a cornerback for the Tennessee Titans. Devin attended Rutgers University, where he was voted First-Team All-Big East in 2009.

Since 2016, Devin McCourty has been married to American doctor Michelle Powell. Michelle was born in Syosset, New Jersey on March 18, 1988. Devin and Michelle met at Rutgers University when Devin was focused on the school’s football team and Michelle on pre-med. But after a few days, they became friends and maintained a strong friendship for several years.
Michelle Powell received her medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Medical School and currently works as a physician in Piscataway, New Jersey. Michelle obtained a position in the emergency department of a hospital in New Jersey shortly after graduating in 2014. Devin McCourty and Michelle Powell currently have two children.
She is a loving mother to three children when she is not attending to patients. Londyn, their eldest child, was born on March 11, 2017. Thirteen months later, on June 22, 2021, they welcomed Brayden and then Chase William into their family. They had another child, Mia, but she died 31 weeks into Michelle’s pregnancy in May 2020.

Devin McCourty Announces His Retirement After 13 Seasons With Patriots
An all-time Patriots player has called it quits. Devin McCourty has decided to retire from football after 13 seasons in the NFL, all of which he spent in New England.
McCourty announced the news in a video posted to his social media platforms on Friday afternoon.

McCourty started every game he played with the Patriots after being drafted in the first round (27th overall) in 2010. He missed only five games during his career, appearing in 205 regular-season games and 24 postseason games.
After Tom Brady (285), Matthew Slater (213), Bruce Armstrong (212), and Julius Adams (206), his 205 games played rank seventh in New England history. His 24 postseason starts are the most for a defensive player in NFL history.
McCourty was a starter from the start, taking over as New England’s No. 2 cornerback in Week 1 of his rookie season. In his rookie season, he led the Patriots with seven interceptions, which tied for the second-most in the NFL that season.
He moved to safety in 2013 and largely served as the defense’s quarterback from then on, becoming one of the best safety tandems with Patrick Chung. In his first year at the position, he was named to the All-Pro second team, and in 2016, he was named to the All-Pro second team and Pro Bowl.
