Waka Flocka Flame and his wife Tammy Rivera have broken up after eight years of marriage. The former Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star confirmed the breakup earlier this month, after a lot of rumors. Unlike some other celebrity couples, they did not fight about it.
The Flockaveli rapper talked about his breakup with Tammy Rivera for the first time on the It’s Tricky With Raquel Harper podcast. He said that they just grew apart but are still friends. From Waka’s point of view, he doesn’t get why couples can’t break up without making a mess.
When asked how they knew each other, he said, “That’s my best friend, that’s my dawg.” “People want it to be full of fighting and hatred, but we’ve just grown up!” Like, why does it have to be that when people change for the better, there has to be something gross about it?
“It’s disgusting to see people say things like, ‘Girl, you’re glowing. Fuck him!’ Or ‘Fuck her, Waka. She ain’t shit!’ Why must it be so mean when we’re not mean? Still, it’s love. Tammy and I stamped.”
Waka Flocka kept being nice to his ex-wife, telling her that she couldn’t do anything to make him hate her because she gave him their 16-year-old daughter, Charlie, from a previous relationship. The man from Atlanta thinks that taking care of Charlie made him a better person.
“Charlie is the best thing that ever happened to me in my life,” he said. “It was a blessing to be able to raise another person, especially a young woman, and see all the problems women face. That was a lot.
“That’s what made me feel like a hero and a role model. Then I started to think, “Damn, I’m really the most important person in someone’s life? That’s insane! That was nice. It felt better than hitting a million people on stage. It helped me understand why there were so many people on stage. Having Charlie made me appreciate everything else in my life.”

When asked if he and Rivera will try to work things out and get back together, Waka didn’t give a very honest answer. He dodged the question by saying, “Let’s start a new question.”
Tammy Rivera recently talked about her breakup with Waka Flocka Flame on Instagram Live. She told fans that she and the “Hard in Da Paint” rapper are now better able to raise their children together even though they live in different places. She also said that their WE show, Waka & Tammy: What the Flocka, will keep going.
Rivera said, “Him and Charlie good, we good.” “It’s fine that we’re not together. We’re good, and things are going well.”
