Frozen 3: Possible Release Date Status, Cast, Plot & Renewal Status By Disney+
Since the release of “Frozen II,” fans of Disney’s animated films have been speculating about the potential of a “Frozen III.” Elsa (Idina Menzel) is on a quest to discover the origins of her ice abilities, while Anna (Kristen Bell), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), and Olaf (Josh Gad) are working to break a curse that has been placed on the Northuldra tribe by the evil Queen Elsa. ‘Frozen II’ is one of just a few Disney films to gross over $1 billion worldwide after its November 2019 release.
It’s been more than a year since the release of “Once Upon A Snowman,” an animated short that will premiere on Disney+ in late 2020. The first two movies came out six years apart, so there’s still plenty of time for a third one. So, what do we know so far about a possible Frozen 3 if that did happen?

Frozen 3 Release date:
As was already said, it took six years between Frozen and Frozen II, so even if there were a Frozen 3, fans might not see Anna and Elsa again until 2025.
The good documentary series Into the Unknown about the making of Frozen II (which you can watch on Disney+) shows how much detail goes into making animation, so it makes sense that there is a gap.
At the time of writing, it seems like Frozen 3 won’t come out for a long time. So let’s hope that Disney starts talking about it soon so we can get a better idea of when it will come out.
It’s unknown whether Disney has Frozen 3 in the works.
Disney hasn’t said for sure that “Frozen III” will happen as of late 2025. Since there has been no official announcement, it is impossible to know when the animated movie from House of Mouse will be shown in theaters. We do know that it takes a long time to make animated projects in general.
There’s a reason why animated movies are announced a few years in advance and animated TV shows like “Bob’s Burgers” and “The Simpsons” get renewed for more than one year at a time (via The Wrap). We’re talking about years of work that went into setting up the animation, recording the voiceover, and carefully editing the effects.
The “Frozen” series wouldn’t be anything without its main voice actors, and since many of our favorite characters were still around when “Frozen II” ended, fans can expect them to come back for a third movie. The world of “Frozen” is built around how sweet Kristen Bell is as Anna and how strong Idina Menzel’s singing is as the adventurous Elsa.
Plus, Josh Gad’s famous performance as Olaf and Jonathan Groff’s role as Kristoff are both important parts of the movie series. We can also hope to see new characters like Yelena (Martha Plimpton), Mattias (Sterling K. Brown), Ryder (Jason Ritter), and Honeymaren (Rachel Matthews).
When it comes to the plot, “Frozen II” left a few loose ends that a new movie could easily pick up. The most important question is how Elsa will do as the guardian of the Enchanted Forest. Also, would it be peaceful for Arendelle and Northuldra to join together? Will Kristoff and Anna get married? This is also a very important question.
At the end of “Frozen II,” he asked her to marry him, and she said yes. The difference between what Anna wants and what is expected of a queen would make for an interesting plot and give Disney’s usual princess stories a new twist.
