Grand Theft Auto 6: Here’s Everything You Want to Know About the Game!
The release date of Grand Theft Auto 6 has been confirmed, but it is currently unknown when exactly this will be. Nonetheless, Rockstar Games has stated that development on the game is ongoing. As of February 2022, “active production for the next edition in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway,” according to a bit of comment buried at the bottom of a GTA 5 Community Update
Speculation about the Grand Theft Auto 6 launch date
There has been no formal announcement regarding when GTA 6 will be released.
Rockstar workers that Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier spoke with for his widely read article on the game were unable to comment. Microsoft’s answer to the UK Competition and Markets Authority’s examination into its acquisition of Activision Blizzard states, “The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI is slated to be published in 2024.” The recent rumors support Microsoft’s claim of a release date in 2024, given that refining a game can still take a year or longer (particularly one as massive as GTA 6).

Are the recent Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks real?
In September of last year, a pre-alpha version of Rockstar’s upcoming GTA 6 game was leaked online, causing the company significant damage. Quickly after, Rockstar acknowledged the leak, expressing its deep regret over the incident while assuring fans that it would not slow down the game’s development. Despite the passage of nearly five months, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick is still grappling with the psychological fallout of the leak.

Zelnick remarked, “We take leaks very seriously indeed, and they disappoint all of us. It’s incredibly annoying and unpleasant to the crew,” in a recent interview with IGN. But from a business perspective, we’re unaffected. However, our teams are impacted on a more individual and emotional level.
GTA 6’s plot features the first female protagonist.
Bloomberg’s report also discusses the plot and characters of Grand Theft Auto 6.
According to the publication, “Grand Theft Auto 6 will have a playable female protagonist for the first time in the series.” The leaked footage from the game’s early stages of development confirms this. The article continues, “The woman, who is Latina, will play one of a pair of major characters in a movie inspired by the bank robbers Bonnie and Clyde.” The report adds, “Developers are also being cautious not to ‘punch down’ by making jokes about underrepresented groups,” which may help modernize the GTA tone in this installment.

On which platforms will Grand Theft Auto 6 be playable?
We are confident in saying that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be playable on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox One Series X/S, but whether or not it will be available on the PS4 and Xbox One is still up in the air. It’s possible that by the time GTA 6 is out, those older platforms will be completely obsolete.
We also anticipate a Grand Theft Auto 6 PC release, but it is unclear if the game will be ported to Nintendo’s Switch console. The previous installment, Grand Theft Auto 5, has yet to make its way to the Switch, and GTA 5: Definitive Edition is not included in the Switch’s launch lineup.
Take-Two Interactive, the firm that owns Rockstar Games, has made it quite clear that it has no plans to release games like Grand Theft Auto 6 on PlayStation Plus or Game Pass. Take-Two stated in a recent conference call that they expect to see. According to CEO Strauss Zelnick, subscription services are still a modest business and can be sustained in other ways.
