Hocus Pocus 2 Teaser Trailer: Return Of Sanderson Sisters On Disney+ On Sep 10th!
The long-awaited follow-up to the 1993 comedy will be available on the company’s streaming service, Disney+, on September 30.
Bette Midler, who is 76, Sarah Jessica Parker, who is 57, and Kathy Najimy, who is 65, all return for the movie. They all play the three witches who want to get eternal youth by sucking the souls out of the children of Salem, Massachusetts.
In the teaser, Midler’s character, Winifred, yells, “Lock up your children!” after the Black Flame Candle is lit again, bringing her and her sisters back to life. “We’re back, Salem!”
Later, the women stop by what looks like an outdoor Halloween carnival, where one of the workers immediately recognizes them. He says, “Hey, it’s the Sanderson Sisters.” “You must be looking for the stage, right?”

Midler says, “Always,” which sounds like she’s going to sing another song like “I Put a Spell on You” from the first movie.
Anne Fletcher, who made Dumplin’ and The Proposal, is in charge of Hocus Pocus 2.
In January, the movie’s producer, Adam Shankman, wrote on Instagram that filming for the sequel was done. He said, “Coming to you #Halloween #2022 on @disneyplus.”
In the 1993 movie, Max (Omri Katz) lit the Black Flame Candle by accident and brought back to life three witches who were out to steal children. The new movie will pick up almost 30 years after that. Vinessa Shaw and Thora Birch were also in it.
“We’re back, witches,” it says on the sequel’s poster.

At the company’s upfronts presentation in May, clips from Hocus Pocus 2 were shown for the first time.
People also got to see a sneak peek of the movie, where the three main characters sang “The Bitch Is Back” by Elton John and Billy Butcherson, a zombie with a good heart, showed up (Doug Jones, reprising his role from the first film).
The clip also showed new characters, like Tony Hale’s character as the mayor of Salem and Sam Richardson’s character, who was also seen in the official teaser trailer that came out on Tuesday.
From what you saw in that clip, the two teens who bring the Sanderson Sisters back to life are Gossip Girl’s Whitney Peak and American Horror Story’s Belissa Escobedo. Lilia Buckingham (Dirt) plays the third teen who works with Peak and Escobedo’s characters to fight the Sanderson Sisters.
According to the press release, Doug Jones (The Shape of Water), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), and Froylan Gutierrez (Teen Wolf) will also be in the movie.
“It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge,” the film’s official description reads. “Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.”
A production source who spoke to PEOPLE in February said that it seemed like the returning cast hadn’t been away for very long while they were filming the second movie.
“Bette’s energy is the same as when she starred in the original. If anything, she raises the stakes,” the insider told PEOPLE.
