In a 1993 interview with Inside Edition, Dahmer stated, “I always knew that it was horrible.” The first murder wasn’t planned.

In May 1994, Dahmer was baptized by minister Roy Ratcliff after becoming a born-again Christian and meeting with him frequently.
Three months later, Osvaldo Durruthy, a fellow prisoner, attacked Dahmer and cut his throat with a razor, leaving just minor wounds.
On the morning of November 28, 1994, Dahmer and other prisoners, Jesse Anderson and Christopher Scarver were left unattended in the showers of the prison gym.
Scarver used a metal bar to strike Dahmer. He was taken to a neighboring hospital in a hurry, but an hour later, at the age of 34, he was declared dead.
