This was due to Christine’s attorneys filing paperwork asking a Santa Barbara, California, court to grant her request for both parties to be excused from attending an obligatory co-parenting course. The Yellowstone star and his ex-wife finalized their divorce in September, with the actor receiving shared custody of their three children.
Following TMZ’s first story of their settlement, a representative for Kevin, 69, said PEOPLE in a statement back in September that the pair “have come to an amicable and mutually agreed upon resolution of all issues pertaining to their divorce proceedings.”
After being married for eighteen years, Christine filed for divorce on May 1, 2023. She stated in her statement that she and Kevin separated on April 11. Cayden, 16, and Hayes, 15, their sons, and Grace, 13, their daughter, are the two’s three children.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action,” a rep for Kevin said at the time Christine filed for divorce. “We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
Kevin and Christine were in court several times before their divorce was finalized in September to work out details ranging from when Christine would leave their Santa Barbara, California family compound to Kevin’s child support payments.
While Kevin was practicing for his 1996 romantic comedy Tin Cup, he happened to run across Christine at a golf course. After reconnecting at a restaurant in 1998, the couple started dating and got married in 2004 at Costner’s 160-acre ranch in Aspen, Colorado, known as The Dunbar.
According to PEOPLE, Baumgartner arrived at the wedding in a green antique truck while the groom arrived in a horse-drawn carriage. Costner was previously married to Cindy Silva for 16 years before tying the knot with Christine.
The former couple, who had three grown children together, split in 1994. The actor dated Bridget Rooney for a short while after splitting from Silva and starting a relationship with Christine. The two of them are parents to their 27-year-old son, Liam.
