Knives Out sequel Glass Onion: What you need to know
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the first sequel, is slated for release in the latter half of 2022. The shooting happened last summer.
A few months before the epidemic, the first Knives Out movie opened in theatres to positive reviews and $311.4 million in worldwide box office revenue on a $40 million budget. The moving received nominations for Best Original Screenplay at both the 92nd Academy Awards and the 73rd British Academy Film Awards.
Therefore, it came as no surprise to find that Netflix spent a significant amount of money last year to acquire the rights to two sequels that Johnson wrote and directed with Daniel Craig.
The movie’s plot is not widely recognised. The sole official plot summary provided by Netflix is that Detective Benoit Blanc will visit Greece in order to “peel back the layers of a case involving a new cast of suspects.”
Johnson recently discussed how Agatha Christie served as another source of inspiration for him when writing the sequel in a thread on Instagram.
