The Ending Of Manifest Season 3 Explained: Lets Find out Who Dies At The End Of Season 3?

Anyone who enjoyed “Lost” or who enjoys programs with more twists than a bag of pretzels will enjoy “Manifest,” a supernatural drama on NBC that is excellent for anyone who enjoyed “Lost” or for anyone who enjoys shows with more twists than a bag of pretzels. Several passengers from an airline flight that went missing and then reappeared without warning after five and a half years are the focus of the series. When the travelers from Flight 828 return, they begin to have visions and premonitions about the future, which lead them to believe that their disappearance was the result of supernatural and potentially divine intervention. They are also attempting to start up where they left off nearly six years ago in their personal lives.

In the Season 3 climax, the search for answers resulted in catastrophic ramifications for all of the characters. Michaela, a police officer, saved the life of Angelina, a Flight 828 passenger whose devout and overprotective parents had kept her locked inside their home for months. However, following Angelina’s rescue, she became involved with a gang of doomsday preppers who began to believe Ben was a herald of the end of the world. Angelina kidnapped Ben and Grace’s daughter Eden in the Season 3 finale, believing Eden to be her guardian angel. It was the most dramatic scene of the season. Then she stabbed Grace to death before fleeing with the baby in her arms.

Sadly for “Manifest” viewers, NBC has chosen to discontinue the series on June 14, 2021, effective immediately. There were several cliffhangers in Season 3, and it’s probable that those cliffhangers will remain unresolved unless “Manifest” can find a new home on the small screen. As a result, some of the most pressing questions raised in the Season 3 finale may never be answered.

However, here’s what the rest of the Season 3 finale implies in terms of real significance.

There are two major developments in the Season 3 finale. The first is, of course, Grace’s death.

“Manifest” is a supernatural drama with many fantastical elements. Many people regard Flight 828’s unexplained disappearance and reappearance as a religious event. Ben Stone, on the other hand, is a college professor who is skeptical, and his search for answers is mostly scientific. For Ben, his wife’s death is a wake-up call that he’s up against forces (and people) that are far more dangerous than he realized.

Angelina, Grace’s murderer, was a fellow passenger on the plane. The passengers on the plane reacted differently to their ordeal, and Angelina became a religious fanatic — partly due to her overprotective parents, and partly due to the influence of other fanatics she meets. Angelina is so certain Eden is her guardian angel that she is willing to murder an innocent person to prove it.

“Manifest” creator Jeff Rake sold the show to NBC with strategies for six seasons already in place. Rake revealed to TV Line that he had always intended for Grace to die at this point in the show. Grace’s death occurs exactly halfway through the series. If “Manifest” continues, Grace’s death is likely to inspire Ben to take a more aggressive strategy for dealing with fanatics — and possibly become a bit fanatical in the process.

There is most likely a grand plan, but we may never know what it is.

The other major twist in the Season 3 finale is Ben’s son Cal’s second abrupt disappearance and reappearance, which occurs twice in the same episode. In a nutshell, Ben was the leader of a study team that was tasked with recovering the tailfin from Flight 828. Cal disappeared as soon as he reached the tailfin. Ben threw the wreckage back into the ocean, and Cal came out of nowhere — but this time as an adult.

Obviously, Ben’s tinkering with the airplane wreckage caused Cal to age in some way, and this is the most logical explanation. That would imply that the plane was meant to be on the ocean’s bottom, which would infer that there is some type of divine purpose at work in this whole situation. So, what exactly is the plan?

So, let us assume that there is a divine design in place, there are numerous questions that must be answered. The cause of Flight 828’s disappearance is still a mystery, but the outcome is certain. So far, the most significant consequence of Flight 828’s return has been the occurrence of premonitions in approximately 200 persons. If there is a divine design, it is very likely that the plane crashed as a result of that plan.

The reason why the Earth requires nearly 200 prophets is less evident. Most likely, though, it has something to do with the cultist belief that Ben is a modern-day Noah. According to one version of the Bible tale, Noah was actually responsible for the great flood because he was disgusted with humanity. Because of time constraints, the show did not have time to explain why everyone is seeing premonitions or why Cal has aged. Although it was only a cultist belief at the time, the possibility of an oncoming Armageddon was introduced in Season 3, and that would be our best guess as to why Flight 828 disappeared: to grant the passengers premonitory powers that they could use to save the world.

We’ll probably never find out unless “Manifest” finds a new home on the big screen.
