Early Life and Career Beginnings
Robert Alan Deal, better known as Mick Mars, was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, in the 1950s. Soon after, he and his family relocated to Huntington, Indiana, and eventually to Garden Grove, California, where he still resides. In the 1970s, following his high school graduation, he began playing guitar in a series of unsuccessful blues rock bands, which continued until the 1980s.
