Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Release Date Status, Early Access & DLC Update
The best news is that, despite the fact that PC owners were late to the party, we will be able to enjoy the expansion at the same time as Nintendo Switch enthusiasts. The fact that the game is being released simultaneously means that you will be able to hunt the dragon-like flagship monster Malzeno on PC with the best-looking visuals and smoothest performance possible.
To ensure that Monster Hunter Rise runs at peak performance, you should consult our Monster Hunter Rise system requirements guide. If you’re still unsure about whether or not you should purchase the game, you should read our Monster Hunter Rise review. For the time being, let’s dive right into all of the juicy details we already know about Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, starting with the all-important release date, of course.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Release Date
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, like the Nintendo Switch version, is expected to be released in the summer of 2022 at the earliest. We don’t have an exact release date at this time, but we believe it will be released shortly after the Nintendo Switch version, or even on the same day as the Nintendo Switch version.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak New Monsters
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak will include all of the monsters from the base game, as well as new monsters and fan favorites, in addition to the classic monsters. In contrast to the new monsters introduced in rising, which were inspired by ancient Japanese yokai, the new monsters introduced in Sunbreak are more akin to creatures from European folklore.
For example, the main monster of Sunbreak, Malzeno, appears to be based on vampires in appearance and behavior. It lives in a dilapidated castle and only comes out at night, as evidenced by the fact that it bites the neck of a Rathalos in the first teaser trailer for the film. The second new monster, Lunagaron, is a fanged wyvern that looks like a dog but transforms into a werewolf-like creature when exposed to the light of a full moon, similar to how a werewolf does.
So far, the Shogun Ceanataur has been confirmed as a returning monster, with the Shogun Ceanataur being the only other. This is a giant crab monster that first appeared in Monster Hunter 2 on the PlayStation 2 a long time ago. It attacks its prey with razor-sharp claws and sometimes disguises itself in the skulls of other monsters, such as Gravios, to protect itself from being attacked.
Will Sunbreak have multiplayer?
In the same way that you can play with your friends in the base game, you can also play with your friends in a four-player online co-op. Village Quests and Hub Quests are the two types of quests available in Monster Hunter Rise. Village Quests are quests that can only be completed offline and are intended for solo players. They also serve as the game’s story mode. Hub Quests, on the other hand, are where you can play with your friends online, but they can also be played solo and offline.
The difficulty of Hub Quests scales in direct proportion to the number of players present during a hunt. For example, if there are two players participating in a quest, the monster will have more health than it did when there was only one player participating. In addition, Monster Hunter Rise allows players to bring an NPC ally with them when participating in multiplayer hunts. A Palamute, a large dog that will assist you in traveling more quickly, or a Palico, a humanoid cat that can deploy traps or heal items for the group are both possibilities.

Monster Hunter Rise or Sunbreak ever come to Xbox
There have been no reports of Capcom either confirming or denying the possibility of Monster Hunter Rise or its expansion Sunbreak being released on the Xbox One platform. It was player feedback, according to an interview with Gamesradar, that contributed to the success of Monster Hunter Rise on the PC (along with other factors such as the success of the PC version of Monster Hunter World).
Because of the high demand for Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak, it is possible that the games will be ported over to the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S if there is enough interest.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Early Access & DLC Update
Capcom revealed new details about the Monster Hunter franchise’s future at the Tokyo Game Show in September, teasing the release of Monster Hunter: World in 2021. The PC port of Monster Hunter Rise, as well as its upcoming paid DLC expansion, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, were among the most notable announcements made at the event. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak will be available in early 2018.
There will be more challenging quests, a new setting to explore, new gear to collect, and new monster to defeat in this expansion, which will build on the foundation of one of the best multiplayer games available on the PC market. The DLC for this game is expected to be released sometime during the summer of 2020.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak launch price and availability
Currently, the price of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is being kept under wraps, but it will be available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch’s integrated store, as well as on the PC via Steam when it launches. To gain access to the content of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, you must first purchase the base game and complete the 7-Star Hub Quest: Serpent Goddess of Thunder, which can be found in the game.
