Outlander’s New Spinoff: Starz Give Official Greenlight For ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’
The hit series Outlander has been a sensation since its launch in 2014. Fans of the show have even more to look forward to, as there’s now an upcoming spinoff based on author Diana Gabaldon’s beloved book series. This outlander spinoff is set to bring viewers back into the world of time travel and Scottish culture that made the original show such a success.
Outlander Is Finally Getting A Spinoff Series
Starz has confirmed the creation of the Outlander prequel series “Outlander: Blood of My Blood,.” The writers’ room for the upcoming drama series on the romance of Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, has officially opened. Starz has revealed that the Outlander prequel Blood of My Blood is currently developing. And it comes just as casting for Season 6 of Outlander is underway.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood is a love story. It will investigate the depths to which a person will discover love in a time when love is considered a luxury and marriages are often arranged purposefully for political or financial gain, as Roberts explained.
Sony, Tall Ship Productions, and Story Mining & Supply Company are behind the prequel, along with executive producers Roberts, Moore, and Davis.

Dive Deeper Into Outlander’s Spinoff Series
The new spinoff will follow two of Gabaldon’s characters from her eighth ‘Outlander’ novel in the franchise, ‘Go Tell The Bees That I am Gone.’ While plot details are being kept under wraps, fans can expect to learn more about Jamie and Claire Fraser’s daughter Brianna Randall and her husband, Roger MacKenzie, as they explore their unique adventures in colonial America. Production on Season 6 of Outlander is set to begin later this spring, while no start date has yet been set for the spinoff series.
Last summer, Deadline reached out to Starz about the project, but they declined to comment. This sparked rumors about an Outlander prequel.
