American actor, dancer, and singer-songwriter Patrick Wayne Swayze (born August 18, 1952) was well-known for portraying memorable major parts, particularly romantic, tough, and comic characters. The only child of Edmond and Karin Haapaniemi’s six children, Lisa Anne Haapaniemi, was born in Houston, Texas. She is a registered nurse. Niemi has stated that she was inspired by and encouraged by her parents’ careers.
She was born in Finland. In 1974, she received her diploma from the Houston Ballet Dance Company. For her stage identity in the theater, she changed her last name from Haapaniemi to Niemi in 1977. The Finnish surname means “Aspen cape” in English.

Patrick Swayze Death
Love for Lisa Niemi Swayze’s late husband, Patrick Swayze, endures. In an interview with Hoda Kotb on Friday’s episode of The Today Show, the actor’s widow discussed their marriage more than 13 years after his passing on Sept. 14, 2009, at age 57 due to pancreatic cancer.
“Just because somebody’s gone doesn’t end your relationship with them,” Lisa, 66, said. “We spent 34 years together, and that’s always going to be a part of my life and who I am.”

Because of this, she frequently hears the late Dirty Dancing actor’s voice “in [her] head” and, as Lisa remarked, “He comments on what I’m doing.”
“When I need a bolstering up or something’s going on, I can ask him in my head, and I hear exactly what he’s saying, which is generally, ‘Come on, girl, get real,’ “ she joked.
Lisa also discussed her involvement with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and her support of activities like this Saturday’s PurpleStride fundraising walk.
“I still care and I know how tough Patrick’s and my journey was with this,” she told Kotb, 58. “Cancer may have taken him, but it didn’t beat him. And I’m continuing his fight for him.”
Lisa, who wed jeweler Albert DePrisco in 2014, advised people in a similar situation looking to find love to just “be open.”
“I can’t tell you how many widows say, ‘I’m never going to get married again. I’m never selling this house.’ And you know what? You do it when you’re ready and not a moment before,” she said.
