Lauren Elizabeth Ash was born on February 4, 1983, in Belleville, Ontario. She is a Canadian actress and comedian who now lives in Los Angeles. Ash is best known to TV viewers for playing Dina Fox on the comedy show Superstore. She has also been on the mainstages of Second City in Toronto and Chicago, and she is one half of the sketch comedy duo “Cory!” In 2006 and 2007, she won the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Female Improviser.
In 2012, she won Best Performance by a Female in Television for Almost Heroes, and in 2015, she won Best Female Performance in a Feature Film for her role as Carol in the movie Dirty Singles. She was also on the show “Scare Tactics,” which was about pranks.

Ash has had different roles in the movies Scare Tactics and Almost Heroes, both of which are Canadian TV shows. She had a recurring role on The Ron James Show and made guest appearances on Lost Girl, Cracked, Bomb Girls, and Call Me Fitz. He has also worked on movies and TV shows like Video on Trial, Hotbox, and Lars and the Real Girl, which was nominated for an Academy Award. She also did the voice of Sam Goldman in The Dating Guy, a Canadian animated show. She was on the American TV show Super Fun Night with Liza Lapira and Rebel Wilson.
She was Hortense in the first season of the Comedy Central show Another Period. She took over the role of the pilot’s actress, Artemis Pebdani. At the 3rd Canadian Screen Awards, she won the award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Spun Out. Ash played Dina Fox on the NBC show Superstore from 2015 to 2021.
She gave Scorpia’s voice in She-Ra and the Princesses of Power from 2018 to 2020.
In 2020, she started a weekly podcast with her cousin Christy Oxborrow called True Crime and Cocktails.
On April 13, 2021, Variety Magazine said that Ash had signed a deal with NBCUniversal for talent and development. As part of her deal with Universal Television, she will also write a pilot for a half-hour comedy show.

The 38-year-old former Superstore star pushed for body positivity in a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday. She wore a black leather bra in a mirror selfie to show her support. Ash wrote in the caption, “In 2022, I promise to dress like the rock star I am.”
She said that she has been asked some questions about her recent weight loss. Ash said that she doesn’t “owe anyone ANY explanation about my body, ever,” but that she does want to “talk about some things that are important to me.”
“First of all, it makes me so sad that so many of you send me private messages about how much you hate your bodies. I wish you could all see the beauty that is already in you. Know that your size has nothing to do with how beautiful you are. Size has nothing to do with value, “Ash wrote something. “This life is so short, and we waste so much time trying to change ourselves instead of just being where we are right now.”
Ash said that she lost weight because she made some changes after she “suffered a lot of personal loss in so many ways.” This taught her how important it was to “eliminate stress from my life at all costs” and “put my own needs and wants first.”
“You don’t really know what toxins can do to your body until you decide to get rid of them all,” she said. “Never underestimate what our bodies do when they are under a lot of stress for a long time, or what can happen when we decide to stop putting up with that kind of life.
