Sergin Brin’s Early Life
Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin was born in Moscow, Russia on August 21, 1973. Sergey and his family fled Russia when he was just six years old to avoid Jewish persecution. They eventually settled in Maryland, where his father accepted a position as a math professor at the University of Maryland.

Sergey met Larry Page, a Stanford scholar working on a project, in 1995. By 1996, Larry and Sergey had created their initial search engine, dubbed ‘BackRub,’ which functioned for many months primarily on Stanford machines.
The two agreed to explore their idea, and Sun Microsystems co-founder Andy Bechtolsheim played a significant part in this process by sending them a $100,000 cheque.
