Severance Season 2 Release Date Status: Officials Renewed Season 2 For Early 2023
Severance, a horror show on Apple TV+, was the scariest story ever about how to balance work and family life. When the first season ended on April 8, viewers were left with more questions than answers. Who would just end a series like that without knowing what will happen next?
Well, it’s a good thing that the show was picked up for a second season not too long after the first one ended. Now we just have to wait for it to come back on TV.
We kind of wish we could just cut off our heads and go straight to the next season, right?
The Ben Stiller-directed dystopia, whose cast was led by Adam Scott, was always unnervingly clean and shiny… and now the dirty, hidden side beneath the shine is coming out, which could put lives at work and at play in danger.
So, what’s the newest information?
Here is everything you need to know about the future of the innies at Lumon Industries.
Severance Season 2 Release Date
Severance will have a second season. The success of the first season meant that Apple ordered more episodes right away, before the end of season 1. Ben Stiller, the show’s producer, always planned for it to have more than one season.
Stiller says that it took a long time for season 1 to go from script to screen, so people who want answers to the cliffhangers may have to wait a long time.

“It’s really exciting to see the response from people who are loving the show – and the level of fan engagement. It has been a long road bringing Severance to television. I first read Dan’s pilot over five years ago,” Stiller said in a statement.
“It has always been a multi-season story, and I’m really happy we get to continue it. I’m grateful to our partners at Apple TV+ who have been behind it the whole way. Praise Kier!”
Season 1 alone took 11 months to film, and since writing for season 2 started in July 2022, we probably won’t see it until late 2023 at the earliest, and more likely in 2024. We think that fits with the current plan to film between October 2022 and May 2023. Still, no official date has been given out yet.
Severance Season 2 Cast: Who’s Confirmed?
If you, like us, fell in love with Severance’s charmingly lost cast, we have good news for you. As of the time, this was written, all of the main actors and actresses from the first season were set to return for the second.
Adam Scott (Mark), Britt Lower (Helly), Zach Cherry (Dylan), and John Turturro (Irving) will all be back in the Macrodata department. Patricia Arquette (Mrs. Cobel) and Tramell Tillman (Mr. Milcheck) will also be back as enforcers. Ms. Casey/Gemma, who was played by Dichen Lachman, will be back, as will our favorite character, Christopher Walken’s kind-hearted Burt.
The “extension” of Lumon’s world will be featured in Severance Season 2
You can be sure that a firm, even a fictional one, has large funds and a wide range of influence over many facets of the world they live in when they have the authority to place demands on the bodies of their employees. Severance’s first season highlighted the large number of characters in its universe who actively oppose Lumon and its Severance procedure, and the second season of the show will go even deeper into Lumon’s power in society as a whole.
“There’s definitely going to be some expansion of the world,” Erickson said in an interview on season 2 with Esquire. “Within Lumon, we’re going to see more of the building, and we’ll see more of the outside world, too.”
The investigation of Mark and Gemma’s (Dichen Lachman) relationship mystery will also play a significant role because their destinies were directly related to the season 1 conclusion.
“Who was the first target? Was Mark the first target because of his relationship with Gemma, or was it the other way around? And we won’t see that this season, but we will in the seasons to come, “Erickson told the magazine Variety.
“What makes Mark unique? That’s the big question. And is it really because he’s special, or is it more because of Gemma and how she made him feel? All of those questions aren’t answered this season, but we’ll get to them.”
