Nintendo’s new animation company, Nintendo Pictures, is now open for business. The animation studio, which used to be called Dynamo Pictures, was bought by Nintendo in July, and the deal was finalized on Monday.
Nintendo’s intellectual property will be used to make video content at Nintendo Pictures. A message on the studio’s website says, “Through our videos, we aim to make Nintendo characters known to customers around the world and create one-of-a-kind videos that will remain in their memories forever” (as translated by Video Games Chronicle)..
Before it was bought, Nintendo and Dynamo Pictures had worked together on several animated projects, such as CG scenes for the Metroid: Other M video game and a series of short Pikmin movies for the Wii U and 3DS consoles. Both of those were later put on YouTube.

Nintendo is working on one animated movie that has been announced so far. It is a Super Mario Bros. movie that is being made with Illumination, the same company that made the Minions movies.

The first trailer will be shown for the first time at New York Comic-Con on Thursday. It will also be shown during a Nintendo Direct presentation that will be live-streamed on YouTube on Thursday at 1:05 p.m. PT. The Super Mario Bros. movie will open on April 7, 2023.
Chris Pratt plays Mario in the movie, Jack Black plays Bowser, Seth Rogen plays Donkey Kong, and Anya Taylor-Joy plays Peach. Even though movies based on video games are not new, they have become much more popular and thriving in the past few years.
The Sonic 2 movie from Sega made more money than any other video game movie in the US. Sony is also making some of its properties, like “The Last of Us” and “Horizon,” into TV shows, and “The Witcher” and “Cyberpunk” on Netflix, made by CD Projekt Red, have done well.

The first glimpse of the new Super Mario Bros. movie has been shown. In 1993, the story was turned into a live-action movie. The new film will be fully animated in a style similar to video games.
During a Nintendo Direct show on Thursday, October 6, Nintendo will show the first trailer for the movie. Along with this news from Nintendo, the first poster for Mario in the Mushroom Kingdom has been released, giving us our first look at the game.

The animated movie about Mario is co-directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic. Matthew Fogel wrote the movie’s script. The plot has not been revealed yet, but based on the artwork on the poster, it looks like this movie will be more like the original, with the plumber making his way through the magical land of the Mushroom Kingdom, led by Princess Peach, while King Bowser and his minions try to stop him.
Executives at Nintendo did not want to make another movie for a long time after the live-action version got terrible reviews from critics and fans. People often say that the movie was so different from the video games that many characters were hard to recognize.
At the very least, it was an interesting take on the Super Mario Bros. story, and over the years, it has gained a small but dedicated fan base. Nintendo would need a good idea for a new movie before they were willing to try again. Still, Mario creator and co-producer Shigeru Miyamoto says he has an “excellent feeling” about it.

Miyamoto said last year about the movie’s progress, “Super Mario film is pretty much done, working on the last bit, have an excellent feeling about it, but we are cautious not to betray customers and meet expectations, continue to work on polishing the movie,” The voices of celebrities are used in the Super Mario Bros. movie.
Chris Pratt is giving Mario’s voice in the Super Mario Bros. movie, which has been met with some criticism. The ensemble voice cast includes Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Foreman Spike.
