Taylor Swift’s Agent Responds to Criticism Addressing the Star’s Carbon Emissions
Taylor Swift‘s team has responded to a new study that put the singer at the top of a list of celebrities whose private jets have put out the most carbon dioxide so far this year.
Sustainability marketing firm Yard in the United Kingdom released a report on Friday that said the pop star’s jet flew 170 times between January 1 and July 19. That’s almost 16 days in the air. According to the study, the plane’s total flight emissions were 8,293.54 tonnes of carbon, which is 1,184.8 times more than the average person’s annual emissions.
A Swift representative told The Hollywood Reporter that the singer’s jet is often used by other people. “It is completely wrong to say that she took most or all of these trips.
Yard used information from the Twitter account @CelebJets, which keeps track of celebrities’ private jet trips, for the study. The information was collected from the start of 2022 and included how many flights each star took, how long their average flights were, how many miles they flew, and how much CO2 they put into the air.
“through their private jet usage the average celebrity has created 3256.36 tonnes of CO2 emissions. To put that into perspective, that is over 465 times more than the regular person who averages just seven tonnes per year flying commercially.” https://t.co/3rvIwwDyhR

On the list, Jay-Z was No. 3, Blake Shelton was No. 5, and Travis Scott was No. 10. (No. 10).
This month, Drake got some flak after @CelebJets said he flew on a private jet from Hamilton, Ontario, to Toronto in only 14 minutes. The rapper put the matter to rest by leaving a comment on @RealTorontoNewz’s Instagram page, which had picked up the story.
Drake wrote in the comments section, “This is just them moving planes to whatever airport they are being stored at if anyone was interested in the logistics.” He also said, “No one takes that flight.”
Drake and Swift weren’t the only famous people being criticized for using private jets recently. Kylie Jenner’s private flight from Camarillo, California, to Van Nuys, California, was recently criticized on social media.
