When Will The Sixth Season Of The Crown Premiere?
According to premieredates.com, Netflix Sets the Season 6 Premiere of The Crown for Early 2024
Except for season 2, new episodes have typically debuted in early November, so The Crown season 6 will likely debut on Netflix in late 2023 or early next year.
Each cast of royals films their respective seasons back-to-back in two-season cycles. Season 6 production began in September 2022, with two breaks for the passing of the Queen, and is still underway.

The Crown Season 6 Plot: What Will Happen?
The fifth season concluded in 1997 after chronicling Tony Blair’s election and Diana’s tight friendship with Dodi Fayed. Based on images of Debicki filming aboard a yacht in the Mediterranean, it is likely that season six will begin with the Princess of Wales’ final weeks. Diana and Dodi were murdered in a car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997, along with the vehicle’s driver, Henri Paul.
Deadline has indicated that the show will not represent the crash but the events before and after. This was a turbulent time for the Royal Family as they coped with the public outpouring of grief for Diana, as depicted in the film The Queen, written by The Crown’s creator, Peter Morgan.
Given the casting of Prince William and Middleton, we also know that the series will cover the future king’s university years, during which he first met Middleton in 2001. The show will likely address the effects of grief on Prince William and Prince Harry after the death of their mother.
The Queen’s Golden Jubilee in 2002, followed by the tragic deaths of Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother in February and March, respectively, are likely to be featured as well. According to The Sun, the series may include Prince Charles and Camilla’s 2005 wedding, but Netflix still needs to confirm this.

Is Season 6 Of The Crown The Final Season?
Yes, The Crown season 6 will be the series’ final installment. The show was scheduled to end with the fifth season, but Morgan determined there needed more material to cover in 10 episodes.
Morgan previously told The Hollywood Reporter, “Initially, I had envisioned The Crown extending for six seasons, but now that we have begun work on the tales for season five, it has become evident that this is the ideal time to end the series.
“At the outset, I had imagined The Crown running for six seasons, but now that we have begun work on the stories for season five, it has become clear to me that this is the perfect time and place to stop”
Will Princess Diana Be The Focus Of The Crown Season 6?
Yes! As the next season approaches the early 2000s, the cast and crew of The Crown revealed to Deadline that they are also preparing to capture the sad circumstances that led to Princess Diana’s death. This is the infamous Paris vehicle accident of 1997, in which her then-boyfriend Dodi also perished. Peter, the showrunner, reportedly said the crash would not be shown on-screen.
Deadline cites Netflix sources saying, “We’ve been dreading getting to this stage.” “While we’re proceeding quietly, it’s fair to say that there’s a certain degree of worry — a genuine sense of being on edge. I mean, this situation is quite delicate.”
The tabloid also reported that the show would capture Prince Charles’ arrival at Heathrow Airport to transport Diana’s body back to London and maybe the funeral of the people’s princess. In June, Dominic West, who portrays King Charles III, told Deadline that the upcoming season would be “as turbulent as it gets.”
