The series is the most recent version of Walter Tevis’s 1963 novel. The most famous version of the book was the 1976 movie that David Bowie led. This time, Chiwetel Ejiofor is playing the alien who has big plans for people.
Alex Kurtzman, who wrote J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek reboot as well as Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard, is behind the new show. Yes, this new version of The Man Who Fell to Earth has some real science fiction cred.

The Man Who Fell to Earth Episode 5 Release Date
Episode 5 of The Man Who Fell to Earth will come out on Sunday, May 29 at 10 pm (ET/PT). If you missed episode 4, you can watch it the same day at 5 p.m.
When The Man Who Fell to Earth comes out, it will also have subtitles. Episode 5 is called “Moonage Daydream,” and it’s expected to be about 54 minutes long, which is about the same as the other episodes.

The Man Who Fell to Earth Episode 5 Recap
At the beginning of the episode, we see Faraday on his home planet, Anthon, just before he left for Earth. In the flashback, he is shown in his natural (alien) form as he says a tense goodbye to his family and promises to come back. Back in the present, Faraday (in human form) begs Justin to help him build the huge machine according to the plans Newton left behind. But Justin is worried about her family, so he insists that they come to London before she starts work.
So, Faraday goes to the Origin labs on his own, where he works with a team of eager people who are soon very confused by his strange ways of working. The alien has trouble understanding basic human needs like sleep and trips to the bathroom, but he gives up in the end and lets his team go home to sleep. Justin comes back soon and takes charge of the team.
Faraday, on the other hand, struggles with the fact that none of Newton’s plans make sense. The alien thinks he doesn’t know enough about them to understand them, so he finds comfort in a strange Origin employee named Watt who seems to know everything about the aliens’ plans. Faraday is annoyed by Watt’s playfulness at first, but it leads him to a realization in the end.
