The Star Of Heartstopper Teases Top-secret Doctor Who Role
Yasmin Finney, who was in the movie Heartstopper, said that she “can’t wait” for fans to see her in a secret role on Doctor Who. This year, it was confirmed that the actress had begun shooting scenes for the famous sci-fi show, where she will play a character named Rose.
Yasmin has now talked a little bit more about her time on the show in an interview with the Daily Mail. “I’m so proud and happy to be a part of the family that I can’t wait for everyone to see and don’t want to give anything away. You’ll need to watch, “she said.
The actress, who is best known for playing Elle Argent in Heartstopper, went on to say that everyone on set made her feel welcome and put her at ease. “I think it was because everyone on the set was so nice and made me feel like I was part of the family.
“I feel so honored, and I’m just so happy that Russell [T. Davies] has opened his arms to me and seen something in me,” she said. Yasmin recently said in a powerful speech at the Trans Pride march in London that her character Rose is transgender.
“How many of you have watched Doctor Who?” Yasmin said. “Yes, because that’s another time and show where my character is trans.”
She has talked about joining the Doctor Who franchise before. Soon, Ncuti Gatwa, from the show Special Education, will take over for Jodie Whittaker as the new Doctor.
“If you had told 8-year-old Yasmin that she would one day be a part of this famous show, I would never have believed you in a million years,” she said in a statement.
