Tiger Woods Divorce Settlement: Elin Nordegren Received Around $100-$110 Million!
Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods filed for a divorce in 2010. After Tiger’s scandal became public, the two decided to end their relationship. Here’s how much of a settlement Elin got when she and Tiger broke up.
After Tiger was involved in a scandal, many people didn’t find it surprising that they broke up. But Tiger lost a lot because of his divorce, and the scandal also hurt his reputation. He was trying to get back to the top of his field while also going through a divorce.
How Much Did Elin Nordegren Receive In Divorce Settlement?
People say that Elin got between $100 million and $110 million from the divorce settlement. At the same time, she got child support every month, which was about $20,000 a year. As part of their divorce, Elin also got the house in Windermere where they used to live.
Elin later sold that house and bought another one. The couple decided to share custody of their children. They made sure that their kids wouldn’t be hurt by the divorce. They even talked about it when they said they were breaking up.
“We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us,” At that moment, the pair spoke.
Joint Custody of the Kids
Tiger and Elin agreed to share custody of their two children. This is the only fact that is known for sure about the divorce settlement. This part of the divorce decision was written down in the Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Florida, on August 23, 2010.
During the court case, Nordegren was represented by the law firm McGuireWoods LLP, where her twin sister Josefin worked in the London office. Woods was represented by the law firm Sasser, Cestero, and Sasser P.A.
The judge agreed that Woods and Nordegren had signed a “marriage settlement agreement” on July 3, 2010. The details of how the couple’s things and money were split were probably spelled out in that agreement. But that settlement has never been made known to the public.
So, everything else you hear about the divorce settlement between Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren is just speculation. Some of that guessing might be right, but I’m sure a lot of it is made up.
Financial effects of Woods’ drama
Divorce hurts and costs everyone, and Woods is not the only one who feels this way. He also lost a lot of money and caused a lot of trouble in public. Forbes says that Woods’ wife would get $100 million as a settlement for their five-year marriage when they split up. At the time, Woods was said to be worth $600 million, so this was a huge blow to his money.
On top of the money he had to pay for the divorce, Woods lost millions of dollars in endorsements. Business Insider said that in 2010, Woods’ endorsements cost him $22 million. He was still the highest-paid athlete, though, and his deal with Nike stayed the same. The things that happened in 2009 hurt Woods’ finances, but they didn’t destroy them.
Woods is now worth more than $800 million. Woods has endorsement deals with Monster Energy and Kowa in addition to his longtime partnership with Nike. He also worked with TaylorMade to make his own line of golf clubs and was the face of Rolex.
