Tim Allen Says That Chris Evans’s Movie “Lightyear” Has Nothing To Do With “Buzz”
Tim Allen, who played Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story movies, didn’t like how Chris Evans voiced the famous Pixar character in the new spin-off movie Lightyear. In an interview with Extra this week, Allen talked about how he felt about the movie.
“We talked about this many years ago,” he said. “I’ve said that before.” “It was brought up in one of the meetings, and I said that would make a great movie.”
Allen said, “The brass that did the first four movies is a whole new team that has nothing to do with the first movies. It’s me and Tom Hanks. Buzz from Toy Story would not be the same without Woody. I like plots… It seemed like a very exciting story. As far as I can tell, it’s not a very exciting story. It is a great story. It just seems to have nothing to do with the toy. It has nothing to do with Buzz. It’s just no connection. I wish the connection was better.”
Lightyear came out on June 8, and even though it cost $200 million to make, it only made $156 million worldwide. This is one of Pixar’s worst box office results to date. The movie has also not done well with critics, who have mostly given it mixed reviews. The movie also stars Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules, James Brolin, and others, in addition to Chris Evans.
The movie is about the real Buzz Lightyear, a made-up space ranger who was the model for the action figure in the first Toy Story movie.
