Trace Adkins Illness: Does He Have Cancer?
Trace was admitted to a rehab center in the past for alcohol abuse; he does not have cancer. Apart from that, Trace doesn’t appear sick. On social media, he had been providing updates about his friend Toby Keith’s stomach cancer, though. He did, however, need open heart surgery following his ex-wife’s shooting.
In 1992, the singer relocated to Nashville in an attempt to pursue music once more, but controversies followed him. Adkins, who had divorced Lewis in 1990, was shot two years after moving and during an argument about his drinking that descended into violence with his second wife, Julie Curtis. The bullet had penetrated his heart and lungs, necessitating emergent open-heart surgery.

Trace Adkins’s Music Career
When Adkins’ self-penned debut single “There’s a Girl in Texas” was published in 1996, it peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts. Later on in the year, Dreamin’ Out Loud, his debut album, was released.
His first Top 5 single, “Every Light in the House,” his first Number One, “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” and another Top 5 success, “I Left Something Turned on at Home,” were among the album’s hit singles.
In Canada, the latter single likewise peaked at number one. “The Rest of Mine” from his second album, Big Time, peaked at number five on the charts, but his other singles didn’t do as well. In 1997, the Academy of Country Music awarded Adkins the title of “Top New Male Artist.”
Adkins had an appearance on season 23 of Austin City Limits, a PBS music program, in 1998. The record (named More…) was eventually published in late 1999; however, Adkins’s third album was delayed due to a change in management.
Even though the album’s lead single made it to the Top 10, More… was unable to get a gold record. Mackenzie, Adkins’ daughter, appeared in the “More” video.
Adkins was forced to briefly halt touring in 2001 due to injuries sustained in a tractor accident. He checked himself into a 28-day alcohol rehabilitation center in Nashville not long after the release of his Chrome record.
His debut album, Chrome, peaked at number five on the country albums charts, and its lead single cracked the top ten in late 2002. Adkins put out two albums in 2003: Comin’ on Strong and a compilation of his greatest hits.
He was admitted to the Grand Ole Opry the same year. In addition, he voiced characters in KFC commercials and appeared in the game show Hollywood Squares’ Center Square. The single “Then They Do” was the only one to be released off of this Greatest Hits album.
Two singles were released from this album, which replaced the Greatest Hits collection: “Hot Mama,” which reached No. 5 on the charts, and “Rough & Ready,” which peaked at No. 13. In a February 2004 episode of the television series Yes, Dear, Adkins and Travis Tritt portrayed prisoners.
