Uzumaki Anime Release Date Status And TIme, Storyline, Cast, And Where To Watch
People all over the world have always been very interested in Japanese horror. Popular western movies like “The Ring” and “The Grudge” have their roots in the “Land of the Rising Sun.” But even among these well-known works, there is one artist who is the best when it comes to Japanese horror. Manga writer Junji Ito has been praised many times for his skill at making his readers feel scared. Fans on Reddit have even called him the Cronenberg of Japanese manga. Its disturbingly beautiful drawings and spine-tingling stories have made a big impact on the world of manga, and the upcoming adaptation of his 1998 manga series “Uzumaki” will do the same for the world of animation.
The four-part “Uzumaki” miniseries, which will debut on Adult Swim’s Toonami and is animated by Drive, is meant to give Ito’s work new life. The creators of the show have shown teaser clips that are true to Ito’s art style, which is sure to please longtime fans of the mangaka. Even with these teasers, there is still a lot to learn about when “Uzumaki” will come out, who will be in it, and what will happen. So far, here’s what we know.
When will Uzumaki release?
No one knows for sure when the Uzumaki anime will come out. But it’s hoped that the show will come out sometime in 2023.
The horror anime was supposed to come out in 2020, but it was pushed back to 2021. That was pushed back to October 2022 because of another delay, but that date was changed again in June.

There are no details yet about when Uzumaki will be out in the world. But we do know that the show will probably start on Adult Swim’s Toonami block before it comes out in Japan and other places.
Who are the characters in Uzumaki?
The story of “Uzumaki” is very focused on a small number of important characters. Since there will only be four episodes, this makes sense. Even so, this makes it even more important to talk about the few characters that are there. Kirie Goshima (Uki Satake) and Shuichi Saito (Shinichiro Miki), two average students, are at the center of our spiraling story. They have to deal with a strange spiral-themed curse that hits their small town of Kurouzu-Cho (via Anime News Network). As the story’s main characters, these two lead the reader through “Uzumaki,” which is a long and scary journey.
But these two wouldn’t be anything if they couldn’t play off of other characters. Kurouzu-who has a lot more than just two students to offer. From Kirie’s father (Toshio Furukawa) to Shuichi’s parents (Takashi Matsuyama and Mika Doi as mother and father, respectively) and many others, “Uzumaki” dives deep into the horrors that hit this small Japanese town.
What is Uzumaki’s story?
As in the manga, the anime version of “Uzumaki” is mostly about strange things that happen in a cursed town called Kurouzo-Cho. Kirie and Shuichi, the main characters of the anime, are two average high school students who learn quickly about the spiral-themed curse. As time goes on, they see the people of Kurouzo-cho become more and more obsessed with spirals, and they also start to feel the effects of the curse themselves.
In this case, the horror comes from the fight between normal people and supernatural forces that seem to be out of their control. The spiral curse of Kurouzo-Cho is completely mysterious and hard to figure out, and the fear grows as the heroes try to make sense of something they can’t figure out. Unfortunately, we won’t know if these two people survive the curse and escape its effects until “Uzumaki” comes out next October.
