There are rumors that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will have a screen that stays on all the time. Now, there is evidence that the latest version of Apple’s smartphone operating system, iOS 16, has new wallpapers that work with this feature.
The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max from last year were the first iPhones to have a high refresh rate of 120Hz. This means that the screen can update twice as fast as 60Hz screens, making moving content look smoother and faster.
Apple made the phones with low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology, which lets the refresh rate change based on what’s on the screen. This is because high refresh rates use a lot of battery power.
One problem is that the refresh rate on the phones can only be slowed down to 10Hz, which is probably why they don’t have the always-on display feature.
There are rumors that the displays on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will have a refresh rate of 1Hz. This is good news for the rumors about an always-on display.
The lock screen in iOS 16 can now be changed, and this is more proof that Apple is getting ready for the feature. It’s already on the Apple Watch Series 5 and later models, so you can see information like the time at a glance even when the device is sleeping.
With the always-on feature on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, you should be able to see widgets that show battery life, alarms, weather, calendars, and other information while the screen brightness is low. You will be able to turn on a setting that will hide sensitive information from the lock screen.
The Always-on Feature Of The iPhone 14 Pro Could Be More Interesting Than Androids.
A month ago, bits of code showed that iOS 16 supports an “always-on” mode. It was also shown that, unlike the older versions, the wallpapers on Apple’s new mobile platform are not static images but are instead made in real-time.
9to5Mac has found evidence in the code for iOS 16 that system wallpapers are ready for the always-on display feature. Always-on has been a part of Android phones for a long time. The screen goes black, but you can still see the time, the percentage of your battery, and notifications. It looks like Apple will do things differently.
Here's how the iPhone 14 Pro's always-on display will work… 👀📱
Rather than being completely black with just the date/time like on Android, your wallpaper will fade out and still be visible.

The native wallpapers now have a new state called “Sleep” that has dimmed elements. The outlet says that wallpapers, when the phone is sleeping look like Apple Watch, faces when always-on is turned on.
It looks like when users turn off the screen on the iPhone 14 Pro, the sleep mode will be turned on. 9to5Mac was able to make the behavior happen again.
This means that the wallpaper will still be visible in the always-on mode, and the screen will probably also show the time and widgets. When the phone is unlocked, the screen will return to full brightness.
The always-on display will not only let you see quick information even when the phone is locked, but it will also help the battery last longer, which would be great since the Pros are said to have about the same battery capacities as the old models.
The 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, which are the regular models, are said to have 60Hz screens, which makes always-on support impossible.
The 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max will probably also have a new chip, faster RAM, a higher resolution rear camera, and a new front design. With these changes, they could be the best phones of the year.
All of the models might get a better selfie camera, and the standard models might have more RAM than the 2021 models. It looks like Apple will show off the new phones in September.
