Born on December 13, 1991, Vladimir Andreyevich Tarasenko is a Russian professional ice hockey right winger who plays for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL).
He participated in the Sibir Novosibirsk organization’s system before joining the NHL, making his debut for the senior squad in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in 2008–09.
In all, he played for Novosibirsk for three seasons before being dealt to SKA Saint Petersburg in 2012. The St. Louis Blues picked Tarasenko in the first round, 16th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
He joined the team for the 2012–13 campaign. He played in three NHL All-Star Games, became one of the team’s top scorers throughout his 11-year stint in St. Louis, and won the Stanley Cup in 2019.

Vladimir Tarasenko’s Career
In 2008–09, Tarasenko made his professional debut with Sibir Novosibirsk. In 38 games, he scored seven goals and ten points, and he finished second in the KHL’s inaugural Rookie of the Year voting.
After being freed, he participated in the 2009 IIHF World U18 Championships with the Russian junior team, where he scored eight goals in seven games and was named an all-star as Russia won silver.
Tarasenko was the seventh-youngest player in the League when he returned to Sibir in 2009–10. At the 2010 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, he played for Russia once more, placing third in team scoring with five points in six games.
In exchange for Vyacheslav Solodukhin, Tarasenko was moved to SKA Saint Petersburg on January 13, 2012. Rather than staying and playing in the KHL, Tarasenko revealed on June 2, 2012, that he would be traveling to North America to play in the NHL for the St. Louis Blues.
Tarasenko, however, started the 2012–13 season back at SKA due to the NHL lockout that canceled a significant portion of the regular season. He gave partial credit to his desire to play with team captain Ilya Kovalchuk, who also joined as a result of the lockout.
