Modern technology gives us many things.

Who are the favorites of each 2022 World Cup Group?

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup right around the corner, there will be many that will already be trying to predict what might happen when teams take to the field in Qatar this winter.

Indeed, with a total of 64 games set to be played of highly competitive football, there is no doubt we could see a number of shocks take place, which will certainly make the biggest sports event in the world even more exciting than it already is.

Looking at each Group in detail

One way in which fans will have been trying to determine which teams will likely progress and advance through the multiple different stages that need to be navigated in order to reach the final and compete for the biggest prize is to take a look at the Group Stage and work out which teams are the favorites. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at each group below:

Group A: Ecuador, Netherlands, Qatar, Senegal

Group B: England, Iran, USA, Wales

Group C: Argentina, Mexico, Poland, Saudi Arabia

Group D: Australia, Denmark, France, Tunisia

Group E: Costa Rica, Germany, Japan, Spain

Group F: Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Morocco

Group G: Brazil, Cameroon, Serbia, Switzerland

Group H: Ghana, Korea Republic, Portugal, Uruguay

Easy to determine the favorites of each group?

Of course, there are 32 of the world’s best teams to have qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, thus making it a competition that can be very difficult to try and predict what may happen, however, it is impossible not to note that there are a number of groups where it would be rather easy to suggest which team is the favorite.

The Netherlands will have to be considered favorites to top Group A, whereas England should do the same in Group B. Argentina and France should also be able to be winners of Groups C and D respectively.

However, Group E is perhaps one of the most interesting and it would not be a surprise if it had the most interest from fans all over the world for a variety of different reasons, including the possibility of being able to bet on the games that take place. With both Germany and Spain in the group, as well as Japan who have proven to be formidable opponents in World Cups, there is a lot that could potentially happen.

Indeed, the makeup of this group will have had those interested in betting on World Cup 2022 matches also very interested, as some of the games could be very close to call, thus making things very intriguing once the four teams (Costa Rica included) each take to the field. The latest odds do have Spain ahead at -112 to Germany (+115), but there is every chance that this could change at any time.

Group F is perhaps a little easier to call as many will expect Belgium to come out as winners, while Brazil and Portugal are favored to be winners of Group G and H once the competition takes place in Qatar.

What about those in second?

If things go as expected, then it would also be worth taking a look at the teams that are likely to finish second, as they will also be advancing to the next stage of the competition. This, though, is perhaps where it gets a little more difficult to predict, as some of the groups are extremely tight and close to call.

Group A is one instance, as many it will either be Ecuador, Senegal, or Qatar and will literally depend on how results go. Group B will likely be between USA and Wales, with the game between these two nations potentially deciding it, whereas Group C will likely face a similar scenario between Mexico and Poland.

Group D should see Denmark through, while Group E should be one of either Germany or Spain depending on how the other finishes. Group F will likely be Croatia, with Group G being between either Serbia or Switzerland to finish second. Group H should see Uruguay get through without too many complications.

Final Thoughts

We, for one, cannot wait to see what happens once the 2022 FIFA World Cup gets started on November 20, and with the Group Stage having been created as competitively as they have – given that it is done randomly, we should be able to enjoy an extremely exciting tournament this winter!
